Wakayama Prefecture is situated in the Kii Peninsula. We visited a plum farmer in Minabe-cho, which boasts Japan's largest production of plums; a café in Kainan, which opened to promote the taste of Wakayama; the Saikazaki District, a small fishing town known as the birthplace of the pole-and-line method, also called the Amalfi of Japan; and a restaurant serving seasonal pike conger dishes in Misono-cho.
